Apart from Sonia and Mamta, this meeting will also include Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasamy.
Earlier Mamata Banerjee had opposed this and requested the Central Government to postpone NEET and JEE 2020 for the second time in view of the Kovid-19 crisis in the country. Mamta had tweeted and said that if the examinations were held in the scheduled schedule of September, it could endanger the lives of the students.
Mamta wrote, “Neet and JEE are to be organized on the instructions of the Ministry of Education. I will request the Central Government once again to understand the situation and postpone the examinations till the situation is normal. ” He had said that during the last video conference with Prime Minister Modi, he had raised his voice against the UGC guidelines.
The UGC had instructed in its guidelines that universities / colleges should complete the final year examinations by the end of September 2020. But if examinations are conducted in September, there is a lot of fear that the lives of students will be in danger.
