The Railway Board said in a press note that special trains have been announced for the passengers returning to work. For this, additional trains have been planned for Samastipur and Danapur divisions.
How many special trains will run on which day?
Let us tell you that after the sunrise puja on the morning of 8 November, the crowd of passengers is going to increase at the stations. To manage this, the Railways has arranged for 164 special trains. After this, Indian Railways has planned to run 160 special trains for 9 November, 161 for 10 November and 155 special trains on 11 November.
More passengers traveled to Australia-New Zealand in 1 day
According to the Railway Board, on November 4, the Indian Railways transported a record 120.72 lakh people in a single day. This included 19.43 lakh reserved passengers and 101.29 lakh unreserved non-suburban passengers. This number is more than the combined population of Australia and New Zealand.
65 lakh passengers travelled in 36 days
It also claimed to have achieved a remarkable feat by transporting 65 lakh passengers in 4,521 special trains in the last 36 days. The board said these extra services have played a vital role in facilitating smooth travel during the ongoing Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations.
According to the board, to meet the increased travel demand during the festive period from October 1 to November 30, Indian Railways announced a total of 7,724 special trains, which is 73 per cent more than last year’s 4,429.
