The Odisha government has launched the Subhadra Yojana for the economic empowerment of women, under which eligible women will be given financial assistance of Rs 50,000 in 5 years. Applications can be made both online and offline. The aim of the scheme is to increase the financial independence of women.

The government runs various welfare schemes for its citizens from time to time. Sometimes these schemes are run by the center, while sometimes the state government also starts welfare schemes at its own level. One such scheme is Subhadra Yojana. The Odisha government has started this scheme for the economic empowerment of the women of the state. Under this scheme, eligible women are given a total financial assistance of Rs 50,000 in five years. The government aims to increase the financial independence of women and make them self-reliant through this scheme.

To avail the benefits of the scheme, some eligibility criteria have been fixed, which will be necessary to follow. Under the Subhadra scheme, eligible women are given a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 every year. This amount is deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in two installments.

Who can avail the benefits of the scheme?

The Odisha government has set some eligibility criteria for this scheme.

  • The beneficiary woman should be a permanent resident of Odisha.
  • Age should be between 21 to 60 years.
  • Annual family income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
  • Women who are already receiving assistance of Rs 1,500 per month or more under any
  • government scheme will not be eligible for this scheme.

How to apply?

Women can apply through both online and offline mode.

  • For online application: You can fill the form by visiting the official website of Subhadra Yojana https://subhadra.odisha.gov.in/.
  • For offline application: Beneficiaries can get the free application form from Anganwadi Center, Block Office, Mo Seva Center, or Common Service Center and submit it there.

What documents will be required?

  • Aadhar card
  • Bank account (which is enabled for DBT)
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhar

Benefits of the scheme

Under the Subhadra scheme, not only will women get financial assistance, but digital transactions will also be promoted in the state. Under the scheme, 100 women who make the most digital transactions in each Gram Panchayat or urban area will also get an additional incentive of Rs 500.
