TCS latest update: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will decide on the salary increase of the employees during the year and it will depend on the business environment. The company’s Chief HR Officer Milind Lakkad said this in a press conference after the financial results for the January-March 2025 quarter were announced. This means that there will be no salary increase in the company in April i.e. at the beginning of the financial year 2025-26. Lakkad said, “Due to the uncertain environment, we will decide on the salary increase during the year. It can happen at any time, it will depend on the business.” Lakkad refused to comment on the figure of possible increase in salary and said that it will depend on the business environment.
Lakkad also said that the recruitment of freshers in FY 2026 may either remain the same as in FY 2025 or may be more than that. In FY 2025, the number of trainees recruited in Tata Consultancy Services was 42,000 as per plan.
Campus placement continues

625 employees added in March quarter
TCS’s employee count increased by 625 employees in the January-March 2025 quarter. In the December quarter, the company’s employee count saw a decline of 5,370. The company said on April 10 that with the latest increase, TCS now has 6,07,979 employees. During the entire financial year 2025, the number of TCS employees increased by 6,433. By the end of March 2024, the company had 6,01,546 employees.
The number of employees of the company declined for the first time in 19 years in FY 2024. In FY 2023, TCS added 22,600 employees. At the same time, in FY 2022, the company added 1.03 lakh employees.
