Amidst the debate on moonlighting, the country’s largest IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is in the mood to end the work from home culture. Under this, in the past, the company had asked its employees to come to the office by e-mail. At the same time, now the company has made an important announcement for the employees who have become accustomed to work from home.

According to a report in Times of India, TCS will now provide work from home only to those employees who will submit the medical certificate. This means that for work from home, employees will have to give details of their illness or health-related problem. According to the report, the doctors included in the panel of TCS will verify it.

The doctor will tell the exact situation: The doctors in the panel will tell whether the employee is able to come to the office or not. After the doctor’s suggestion, the company will allow work from home. Through this, the company wants to crack down on employees making excuses for work from home.

Preparation for action: Not only this, it has been clarified in the internal mail sent by the HR department of TCS that work from home culture will not be encouraged. Cases of non-compliance will be taken seriously and necessary action may be taken. According to the mail, administrative measures, including sending the employee on leave, will be implemented. Apart from this, TCS has also started tracking the attendance of employees in the office.

Strictness in the midst of moonlighting debate: TCS has taken this step at a time when the country’s IT companies are calling moonlighting i.e. working for the competitor at the same time as immoral. Wipro has also fired 300 employees due to moonlighting.

At the same time, companies like Infosys, HACL have also warned of taking drastic steps to stop moonlighting. IT companies believe that moonlighting has increased in the work from home culture.
