TDS Verification: TDS status can be checked easily through PAN and Form 26AS, see step by step process

TDS is applicable under the Income Tax Act 1961. Under this, the government collects tax in advance.

TDS Verification: Taxpayers often need to check their TDS status. In such a situation, they can easily check TDS sitting at home. Under TDS, the government keeps a certain percentage of money with itself. This tax is regulated by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

How to check TDS status through PAN card

  • Step 1- First of all you have to go to the official website.
  • Step 2- After this, enter the verification code here.
  • Step 3- Then click on the proceed option.
  • Step 4- After this you will have to enter your PAN and TAN number here.
  • Step 5- Then you have to choose any one of the financial year, quarter and return.
  • Step 6- Finally you have to click on GO option. Now you will see your TDS details on the screen.

How to check TDS through Form 26AS

Step 1- First of all you have to go to the Income Tax e-filing portal.
Step 2- If you have never registered before, then first you have to register.
STEP 3- Then after logging in you will see the option of My Account, click on it.
Step 4- After this you will have to choose the option of view form 26AS.
Step 5- Then select the financial year and PDF format and download.
Keep in mind that this PDF will be password-protected. So to open it, you will have to enter the date of birth mentioned in the PAN card.
Apart from these two, TDS can also be checked through TDSCPC portal.

How to check TDS through TDSCPC

To check TDS status through TDSCPC, you have to follow the below steps carefully.

Step 1- First of all you go to TDSCPC portal.
Step 2- Then you have to click on the given Taxpayer tab.
Step 3- After this you have to click on View TDS/TCS Certificate option.
Step 4- Now enter the PAN number and the required details.
STEP 5- After this, you have to click on the GO option.
Step 6- Then you will see the details related to TDS on the screen.

What is TDS return?

TDS return is a quarterly financial status, which taxpayers have to submit to the income tax. TDS is already deposited by the government. Which can be claimed while filing the tax return.
