Such will be the QR code
“We have introduced the QR code system which will be given on the ticket. Online buyers will be given the code on the ticket. Even on a window ticket, when someone is given a paper ticket, a message will be sent to his/her mobile (Smart phone) with a link to the QR code. “The TTE on the station or train will then have a phone or device to scan the QR code of the passenger’s ticket,” he said. Thus, the ticket checking process will be completely unconnected.” Yadav said that the railways do not have plans to be completely paperless but the use of paper will be reduced to a great extent by introducing online booking of reserved, unreserved and platform tickets.
The new service also started in Kolkata Metro
He said the online recharge facility of Kolkata Metro has been launched. The process of checking the contact ticket for all passengers as soon as they enter the station has been initiated at Prayagraj Junction station. Yadav said irctc website will be fully upgraded and the process will be simplified, convenient and connected with booking of hotels and meals
He said that railways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Space Research Institute (ISRO) under which trains can be monitored by satellite.
