New Delhi. The biggest short video app Tiktok has sacked all its employees in India. The video sharing app owned by Chinese company ByteDance is no longer operational in India. It was banned by the government after the Galwan Valley clash with China in 2020, in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

In June 2020, ByteDance, which was banned in India due to national security concerns, had told the employees that they would be given money as a notice period for 9 months. However, there are some employees who have been asked to serve a notice period of 3 months.

Sources associated with Tiktok told The Economic Times that the employees were informed about the layoffs through a call earlier this week. Later he was given notice.

Company will give 9 months salary

The company has said that it will also pay 9 months salary to these employees. According to ET’s report, the employees of Tick Talk India were informed that February 28 would be their last day. In such a situation, he was given feelers to look for another opportunity. ET quoted sources as saying, “Employees were told some time ago that the business in India could be closed.”

After the Chinese app was banned in India, most of the employees of all India were working in the market of Dubai and Brazil. There were more than 200 million users till Ticketot was banned in India.
