New rules related to tires issued
In this direction, now the government has also issued rules related to the design of tyres. New design tires will be seen in the vehicles from October 1 in the country. Whereas from April 1, 2023, it will be mandatory to install new design tires in every vehicle.
Category will be made for tires
According to the new rules, now 3 major categories C1, C2 and C3 will be made for tires. All these will be mandatory under the second stage of the Automotive Indian Standard. For this, a notification of the Tenth Amendment to the Motor Vehicles Act has also been issued.
Apart from this, the government has also made a system of star rating of tires according to fuel efficiency. Giving a statement about these new rules, tire maker Michelin said that, it has also launched two tires based on the new rules in India.
Tires will be made on the basis of standards
Apart from this, many new standards of tires will also be set. Standards such as rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling sound emission have been made. The new standard of tires will protect them on the basis of their friction on the road, grip on wet road and control at high speed as well as how much noise they make while driving etc.
Rules regarding air bags
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the government is going to make 6 airbags mandatory in 8-seat vehicles. Under this, now automobile companies will have to provide 6 airbags in 8 seater vehicles to make their vehicles more safe.
