Toll Free Roads: The State government has taken a big step by giving relief to the general public of the state. Under this decision, four roads in the state have been made toll free for commuters.
This decision has been taken by the Public Works Department (PWD) of Punjab. At the same time, a total of 3571 km of link roads have been repaired at many places in the state. A total of Rs 509 crore has been spent on this work.
These roads were made toll-free
Recently, the state’s CM Bhagwant Mann’s government has completed one year. On this occasion, Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh informed about the achievements of the government in one year. During this, he told that Ludhiana-Malerkotla, Hoshiarpur-Tanda, High Level Bridge at Makhu, Balachaur-Garhshankar-Hoshiarpur are the roads on which passengers will no longer have to pay toll.
Many other toll plazas will also be finished
The contract time of the toll plazas which have been closed is over. However, the companies want this deadline to be extended. But the government took care of the interests of the people of the state and these toll plazas have been closed. According to the government, many more such tolls will also be closed in the coming times. The state government is also preparing a list in this matter.
People will get relief
Harbhajan Singh said that the present Punjab government will take steps to reduce the burden on the people. He further informed that 215 Primary Health Centers have been upgraded during 2022-23. 65 Sewa Kendras were converted into Aam Aadmi Clinics. Under the Special Assistance Scheme, the work of 166 kilometer road was completed by spending Rs 86.70 crore. Apart from this, 3571 kilometer road work has been completed at a cost of Rs 509 crore.
