New Delhi: Amidst the increasing cases of corona, a new disease has come in India. A case of tomato fever has come to light in Kollam, Kerala. According to a report, 82 patients have appeared so far. A government hospital in Kollam has also confirmed the disease. Cases of tomato fever are being seen the most in children of 5 years or less.
The Kerala government is serious after the maximum number of cases of tomato fever. Anganwadi centers have been closed. An awareness campaign is being run in the villages on behalf of the state government to prevent this disease.
What is Tomato Fever
This disease is a type of viral flu. It is an unknown fever found mostly in Kerala. However, it is not clear whether the disease is a viral fever or a result of chikungunya or dengue fever.
Symptoms of Tomato Fever
-Tomato-like rashes come out in the body
-Skin starts burning
-The mouth becomes dry and does not feel thirsty
-There is a lack of water in the body of children
-High fever, body pain, joint pain and mouth ulcers
-Discoloration of hands, knees, and hips
Preventive measures and treatments
-If the child has any of these symptoms, then consult the nearest doctor.
-Drink more and more fluids.
-The rash should not be scratched.
-The distance from the infected should be kept.
-It is important to maintain cleanliness.
-Requires proper rest
-Fever can last for weeks
