According to the New Motor Vehicle Act, if you do not have a driving license (DL), RC, insurance certificate, pollution certificate and permit certificate while driving , or break any other traffic rules, you (vehicle Owner) may have to pay huge challan.

In this article we will tell you how much challan will have to be paid for breaking which traffic rule. Also, by keeping this in mind, you will be able to save your pockets from getting loose.

This much amount of challan is issued for violation of traffic rules

  • Driving without RC may result in a fine of up to Rs 10,000. There will be a fine of Rs 5000 for driving without a driving license ( DL ).

  • The fine for driving without insurance is Rs 5,000. Apart from this, three months jail.
  • There is a provision of a fine of Rs 25,000 on parents if a juvenile is found driving.
  • There will be a fine of Rs 1000 for riding a bike without a helmet.
  • There is a fine of up to Rs 2000 for overspeeding.
  • If caught driving without seat belt, there is a fine of Rs 1000.
  • There is a fine of Rs 5000 for overweighting the vehicle.
  • There is a fine of Rs 10,000 for driving without a permit.
  • If more people ride than the permit, each person will have to pay Rs 1000.
  • For drunk driving, a fine of Rs 10,000 can be imposed along with a jail term up to 6 months. If caught driving under the influence for the second time, a fine of Rs 15,000 and a jail term of two years can also be imposed.

Those buying a new vehicle should keep these things in mind

Let us tell you that according to the Motor Vehicle Act, it is mandatory for a newly purchased car or bike to have a temporary registration number before leaving the premises of the showroom or vehicle dealership. It is illegal to drive a vehicle on public roads without a registration number. The point to be noted here is that if you are caught by the traffic police after the validity of the temporary number plate expires, then you (the vehicle owner) may have to pay a challan of up to Rs 5,000 or the vehicle may also be confiscated.
