Traffic Challan Rules: Have you ever heard that a traffic challan can be issued even if the car breaks down on the expressway? No, but now be careful while traveling on the Noida Expressway because the administration has declared the Noida Expressway as a breakdown challan area. The administration has implemented the new traffic rule due to the problem of jam on the expressway.
Under Section 201 of the Motor Vehicles Act, if a vehicle breaks down on the expressway, the police can issue a challan ranging from Rs 5000 to Rs 20,000. Every day about 5 lakh people travel through Noida Expressway but the problem of heavy traffic jam has troubled the people.
So many challans issued in 10 days
According to the Times of India report, traffic challans have been issued for 50 vehicles in the first ten days of February. DCP Traffic Police Officer Lakhan Singh Yadav said that if any vehicle breaks down on the expressway, then first the vehicle will be seized and then the challan will be issued. Not only this, vehicles which do not have a valid fitness certificate or necessary documents will be seized.
These people need not panic
The breakdown rules implemented by the administration will be applicable to commercial vehicles, which means that if you are traveling in your own car, then this rule will not apply to you. This decision of the government will provide a lot of relief to private vehicle owners.
This is the way to avoid traffic challan
If you drive a commercial vehicle (cab) then you need to be more cautious, whenever you take your car on the expressway, first check your car thoroughly. If there is any problem in the car then get it repaired first, otherwise if your car stops in the middle of the way i.e. if there is a breakdown then you may have to pay a fine of up to 20 thousand rupees.
