Not wearing a helmet was already included in breaking the rules, but now not wearing a helmet properly has also been included in the traffic rules. Not only this, for this the traffic police is also issuing challan of Rs 1000 to Rs 2000. However, even after knowing this rule, many people do not wear helmet. Or they wear a helmet but make mistakes while wearing it. In such a situation, we are telling you how to wear a helmet properly, so that you can remain safe and avoid challan.

How to wear a helmet

It is very important to wear a helmet before riding or sitting on a two-wheeler. This is important so that your head does not get injured during an accident. In most of the accident cases, people lose their lives due to head injuries. In such a situation, whenever you wear a helmet, make sure that it is properly fixed on your head. Don’t forget to apply the strip after wearing the helmet. Many times people use helmets just to avoid challan. They don’t strip. Not only this, many people’s helmets do not have a lock strip. Or it is broken. In all these situations you can be challaned.

Now challan of Rs 2000

The Government of India has made changes to the Motor Vehicles Act 1998. In which an immediate fine of up to Rs 2,000 will be imposed on two-wheeler riders not wearing helmets or not wearing them properly. That means if the bike rider is wearing a helmet, but it is open, then a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed on him. Even if you are wearing a helmet and not wearing it tightly, you will be fined Rs 1,000. Overall, the helmet now has to be worn completely properly. If this does not happen then you will have a challan of Rs 2000.

There should be ISI mark on the helmet

If the helmet does not have BSI (Bureau of Indian Standards ISI), you can be fined Rs 1,000. That means you will have to wear only ISI marked helmet while riding a bike-scooter. If this does not happen, then a challan of Rs 1,000 will be issued to you under Section 194D MVA of the Motor Vehicle Act. However, Delhi Police is currently issuing challan of Rs 1000 on people.
