In 2019, some changes were made in the Motor Vehicle Act, after which such rumors spread widely among the common people. After this, the office of the Union Minister had to issue a clarification.
You may have to pay a challan for driving a bike or car wearing slippers. A challan can be deducted for driving a motorcycle wearing a half-sleeved shirt. You must have heard many such things. In 2019, some changes were made in the Motor Vehicle Act. After this, many kinds of things started going on in the market regarding the challan. But today we will talk about how much truth is there in these claims.
When these claims first got air in 2019, then the office of the country’s Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had posted a post in this regard. All these claims were denied by his office. Also, people were appealed to be careful of such misleading rumors. What was said in the post? In this post, it was told that no challan will be issued for wearing half-sleeved shirt, lungi-banyan, keeping extra bulb in the car, dirty glass of the car or driving wearing slippers. There is no provision of challan for all these in the Motor Vehicle Act.
What is the benefit?
However, if you drive the car with the right clothes and other wearables, then the chances of accident are greatly reduced. Driving a bike wearing lungi or slippers causes problems in gearing. Accident can happen due to not being able to gear at the right time. Riding a bike wearing shoes gives you a good grip on the brake and gear. Similarly, if you ride a bike wearing a half-sleeved shirt, then in case of a fall, the hand can be seriously injured. Even though these things may seem very small, but at the time of an accident, it can prove to be very big.
