In a recent report, TRAI said that the country’s telecom subscriber base grew marginally to 1.19 billion by the end of November, 2021, with Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel expanding their user base.
TRAI has made its rules more strict. This step will reduce the number of recharges done in a year, which will save money for the customers. Now soon users will be able to recharge with a prepaid plan with a validity of 30 days. At present, telecom companies offer recharge plans with a validity of 28 days in the prepaid segment, due to which customers have to make 13 recharges in a year.
“Every telecom service provider shall offer at least one plan voucher, one special tariff voucher and one combo voucher with a validity of 30 days,” TRAI said in a notification. Must be done within a day.
Growing subscriber base

As per the report, Reliance Jio led the growth in the mobile segment with a net growth of 20,19,362 subscribers, taking its total subscriber base to over 428 million.
TRAI was getting complaints
Continuously, the number of customers of Vodafone Idea (VIL) is continuously decreasing. The company lost 18,97,050 customers in November. Its total subscriber base has fallen to 267.12 million. State-run telcos BSNL and MTNL also failed to gain subscribers in November. BSNL lost 2,40,062 mobile subscribers while MTNL lost 4,318 connections. According to the instructions given by TRAI, it should be ensured that the plan which will be recharged again on the same date, so that people will not have to face any problem. TRAI was facing constant complaints regarding this.
