CNP Service: Till now, mobile users used to get information about the caller through the third party app Truecaller. In which there is a risk of mobile users’ data being leaked. Now when a call comes, the name will also be displayed along with the number. It will show the same name, whose SIM has been taken with the Aadhar card number. This service will soon start all over the country
If no one’s number is saved in your smartphone, then the first question that comes to mind when you receive a call from an unknown number is who is calling. Now this problem will end soon. Soon, when you receive a call from an unknown number, the name of the caller will also be visible. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued instructions to companies in this regard. Telecom companies have started the trial in Mumbai and Haryana circles. So far this trial has been successful in the initial phase. Now this facility named ‘Calling Name Presentation’ (CNP) will start across the country from July 15.
In this, the name of the caller will be displayed based on the information filled in the KYC form while purchasing the SIM. This service is being started with the aim of curbing spam, fraud calls and cyber crime. The companies have started this testing after pressure from the government and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
How does CNP service work
We are testing CNP in limited numbers to know its results. In this, the caller’s name will be visible along with the number during incoming calls. CNP service is similar to the company’s existing caller ID application. But this will not have any adverse effect on their business. Telecom companies also believe that this step will help in preventing cyber crime in the country. Apart from this, there will be success in stopping spam calls as well. Spam calls have become a big problem in the country. According to a survey, 60% people receive at least 3 spam calls a day.
Instructions for blocking fake international calls
Recently, the central government has directed telecom operators to block all fake international calls in which Indian numbers are visible when the call comes. The Department of Telecom (DOT) was receiving complaints related to this. Cyber āācrime and financial fraud are being committed against people through these calls.
