TRAI launched app to subscribe to TV channels while subscribing to TV channels

Keeping in mind the convenience of TV channel subscribers, TRAI has launched a new TV channel selector app (Channel Selector App, TRAI). There are many features in this app of TRAI, which will make it easier for customers to choose their favorite channel.

new Delhi. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has launched a Channel Selector App on Thursday. With the help of this app, customers will be able to watch their TV subscription and choose the channel according to their interest. Through the channel selector app, they will also be able to remove the channels they do not want to watch.

Giving information about this on Thursday, TRAI said that after issuing a new tariff directive regarding broadcasting service, it was seen that customers can choose the channels of their choice through the web portal and app of their Distributed Platform Operators (DPO) I was having trouble.

, in view of this, TRAI decided to develop this app, which will get data from DPO. Currently, this channel selector app is working with leading DTH operators and multi-system operators (MSO – Multi-System Operators). However, TRAI also said that this facility will be combined with other service providers as well.

>> The regulator said that it has developed the TV channel selector app so that customers have a chance to select TV channels through a transparent and reliable system. The selection of subscribers for this process will be authenticated through a registered mobile number.

>> If a subscriber has not registered the mobile number with his DPO, then he will be sent OTP on the TV screen.

>>Customers will be able to select their favorite channels at the current rate or less through this app. They will have the chance to change their existing subscription and will be able to check the real time status of their subscription request.



>> TRAI’s channel selector app is available on Google Play Store and Apple Store.

>> Another feature of this app is that before sending a request to DTH or cable operators , customers will be able to optimize their selections so that they get the best channel facility in the money spent.

Explain that TRAI had notified the new regulatory framework for broadcasting and cable service only in March 2017. This new framework was also implemented from 29 December 2018. Under this, customers get a discount that according to their own they can only subscribe to the channels they want to watch.
