Recently, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued some rules related to SIM cards. TRAI’s new rules have given great relief to mobile users. Even if your mobile recharge plan has ended, now you will not need to recharge immediately. Your SIM card will remain active for many months without a recharge plan.

Rules for Jio users

If you use a Jio SIM, then you can keep your SIM active for 90 days without recharging. After 90 days, you have to activate your number by taking a reactivation plan. According to the information, after the recharge plan ends, the facility of incoming calls is different for different users. Some people have incoming calls on their number for a month, some get the facility for a week and some get the facility for only one day. If you keep zero activity on your number for 90 days, then after this your number will be completely disconnected and it will be transferred to someone else.

Rules for Airtel

If you use Airtel SIM, then let us tell you that without recharge, you can keep Airtel SIM card active only for 90 days. After 90 days, the company gives a grace period of 15 days to activate the SIM. If you do not take any plan on the number in these 15 days, then your number will be completely deactivated.

Rules for Vi

If you use Vi SIM, then let us tell you that you can keep your SIM card active for 90 days without recharge plan. After 90 days, Vi also provides a grace period of 15 days to the customers. After this, if you want to activate your SIM card, then you will have to take an activation plan.

Rules for BSNL

You can keep the SIM card of government company BSNL active for the maximum number of days without a recharge plan. In this, you get a validity of 180 days. This means that you can keep your number active for 180 days after the recharge plan ends.
