Why will banks be closed on 29 April?

On Tuesday 28 April, banks are going to be closed in Himachal Pradesh. Parshuram Jayanti will be celebrated here, due to which banks are going to be closed. However, apart from Himachal Pradesh, banks will remain open in all other states. Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This day falls on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. Parshuram ji is considered a symbol of bravery, protection of religion and struggle against injustice. On this occasion, devotees keep fast, perform special worship in temples.

Digital banking service will continue

Despite the bank branch being closed, net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM services will continue. Customers can send money online, pay bills and do other digital banking work.

When will banks remain closed in April 2025?

April 29 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh as Lord Parshuram Jayanti will be celebrated on this day.

April 30 (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in Karnataka as Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on this day.
