New Delhi, Business Desk. Ola and Uber, which provide cabs through online, have announced their services in several cities of the country. These companies announced this on Monday after the government relaxed the rules for businesses in the fourth phase of lockdown. The government has extended the nationwide lockdown till May 31 with several exemptions. In the fourth phase of the lockdown, the government has allowed the operation of public transport including Ola and Uber with conditions. However, the final decisions related to permissions are to be decided by the states.
Cab service provider company Uber said in a statement, ‘As per the lockdown 4.0 guidelines given by the government, Uber is resuming its services in many cities of the country. Riders will be constantly given further information and will be made aware of the status of different cities through our app.

Uber said that its services are in Amritsar, Asansol, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Daman, Delhi, Durgapur, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hubli, Jalandhar, Kochi, Kozhikode, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Mehsana, Mohali, Mysore, Patiala, Prayagraj, Silvassa, Sonipat, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur, Vapi and Visakhapatnam have become available.
Apart from this, Uber said that the delivery service for its essential services is available in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai and Nashik through the Uber Essential Uber app.
Ola has also started its services. In a statement, the company said, “As per the latest guidelines issued by various state governments, the operation of three-wheeler and four-wheelers on the Ola App platform has commenced with safety precautions at the highest level. These services have started in Karnataka, Telangana, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu (excluding Chennai), Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Assam. ‘
