Udaipur. A serious case of hunting of National Peacock has been reported in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The poachers not only hunted peacocks, but when the villagers saw them, they also pointed a gun at them. However, due to the alertness of the villagers, one hunter (Hunter) got up and then the police were able to catch all. The case is related to the Savina police station area of ​​Udaipur city, here on a hill in the village of Biliya Fanda, also known as Peacock Pahad, three youths had gone to hunt on Sunday late night. The hunters also hunted a peacock with air gun. Hearing the sound of air gun, some villagers reached the spot. It is being told that the villagers also targeted the air gun on those villagers, but on seeing this, many people gathered in the area. During this two hunters managed to escape while one hunter was caught by the villagers.



The villagers caught the hunter and informed the police police station. The police started questioning a hunter in his possession, while the peacock’s body was kept in the veterinary hospital for postmortem. The post-mortem of Peacock was done and the police also started investigating the case. During this, the police also arrested the other two accused on the spotlight of the detained hunter.

Airgun hunting

Police officer Sanjeev Swamy said that the accused Aslam, Feroz and Rizwan, residents of Barkat Colony  , went to the village of Belia Fanda to hunt the three peacocks. Seeing the peacock there, he hunted him with an airgun. He died there after being shot in the neck by a peacock. Seeing the peacock prey, people caught an accused nearby. Police reached on information. Taking information of the other two accused from Aslam, the police have arrested both of them as well. Police have arrested the three accused under the Wildlife Protection Act due to the peacock being a national bird. The car with which they went hunting and the airgun has also been seized from their possession.
