UIDAI Rules: How many times can you change name, address and address in Aadhaar card?

UIDAI has introduced a new rule regarding updating and enrollment of Aadhaar card. Now many information can be updated online only. A new form has been issued for this.

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued a notification regarding change in enrollment and update rules of Aadhaar (Aadhaar Update Rules Change). New forms have been issued for enrollment and updating of Aadhaar (New Form For Aadhaar Updation). If a person goes to update Aadhaar or create a new Aadhaar, he will now have to fill a new form. A separate form has been issued for NRIs.

Due to the new rules, it will now be easier than before to update demographic data like name, address etc. in Aadhaar Card. The new rules introduce two ways to update information in the central identity data. You can complete it through online website or by visiting the enrollment centre.

Now many information will be updated online.

Under the old rules, there was a facility to update address and some other information in online mode. To update other things, one had to go to the enrollment center (Aadhaar Nomination Centers), but under this new rule, now many information can be updated online also (Aadhaar Online Update). There is also a possibility in future that the mobile number can also be updated online (Mobile Number Online Update).

Old form replaced with new form:

The existing form for enrollment for Aadhaar and updating Aadhaar details (Aadhaar Details Update) has been replaced with the new form. The new Form 1 will be used for Aadhaar enrollment for resident individuals and non-resident individuals aged 18 years and above. People belonging to the same category will use the same form to update information.

This will be the form for NRIs.

For NRIs who have proof of address outside India, Form 2 will be used for enrollment and update. Only NRIs with Indian address, whose age is between 5 years and 18 years, can use Form 3. Form 4 can be used by children of NRIs with foreign addresses. Similarly, Form 5,6,7,8 and 9 have been issued for different categories.
