At present, Aadhar card has become mandatory for almost every essential work or service. But many times it happens that some mistakes happen in our Aadhar card which needs to be updated or rectified. The most important thing is to update the mobile number, because while updating the Aadhaar, the OTP is received through the mobile number itself. You do not need any documents to update mobile number, you just have to visit your nearest Aadhaar center, where you can update your mobile number by applying a form and paying the prescribed fee.
However, many times people are unable to go to the Aadhaar center and in such a situation they face problems. To overcome this problem of users, the Aadhaar portal UIDAI is now providing the facility to update your mobile number sitting at home. UIDAI and India Post Payments Bank (IPB) have made such a system through postman service so that people can update their mobile number on Aadhaar through postman sitting at home. The postman service is being provided through 1.46 lakh postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) working in the 650 India Post Payments Bank network established across the country.
Now the mobile number can be updated more easily through the Postman service, which will also increase the convenience of the people. At present, IPB is the only organization providing mobile update service. So far UIDAI has issued about 128.99 crore Aadhaar numbers across the country. Millions of such Aadhaar card users will benefit from this facility, whose mobile number linked to Aadhaar has been switched off. To take advantage of the service provided through the Aadhaar card, it is necessary to update the existing mobile number on it, because the OTP linked to the Aadhaar is received on that mobile number itself and we are able to avail the benefits of many facilities.
