The central government has released the detailed guidelines of unlock 6.0 with minor changes, the guidelines of unlock 5.0 released on 30 September has been extended till 30 November.
The sixth phase of unlock is being implemented from November 1 across the country. The central government has issued detailed guidelines of Unlock 6.0 with slight changes. The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the guidelines of Unlock 5.0 released on 30 September for Unlock 6 till 30 November. According to the guidelines issued for Unlock 6.0, state governments will not have the authority to enforce lockdown of their own free will. Whereas, cinema hall, swimming pool, banquet hall etc. have been allowed to open with special protocols. At the same time, the decision to open schools has been left to the state governments.
According to guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, schools and colleges have been allowed to assess the condition of the corona and open it with certain conditions. The Home Ministry said that the state governments should take a decision in this regard in consultation with the management of the respective schools and institutes. States and UTs have been allowed to decide on opening of schools, colleges and coaching institutes in a phased manner. Higher education institutions will be open only to students pursuing post graduation and PHd from the subject of science, who have to do experiments in the lab.

Guidelines issued for schools
– Only schools and colleges outside the Containment Zone will be opened. Only the staff and students residing outside the Containment Zone will be allowed to come to the school.
– Students coming to school must have written permission of parents. Also, attendance at school will not be compulsory i.e. students will not be compelled to attend school. Online education has to be promoted.
– Students, teachers and staff in school will have to follow social distancing, all kinds of rules will be applicable in class too. There should be at least 6 feet of second between students.
In addition, face cover and mask have been made mandatory. At present, there will be no biometric attendance of students and staff.
– Even inside the school, hands have to be washed or sanitized in a short period of time, there is a restriction on spitting around in the campus.
There will be thermal screening of all the students and staff at the school gate, their hands will also be sanitized at the gate itself.
– Children will not share any of their items such as pens, pencils, notebooks or any other items among themselves. Also, sports and physical activity are prohibited in the school grounds.
– It is compulsory for everyone coming to school to have the Arogya Setu App. Also schools will have to arrange pulse oximeter.
