The government has announced that dearness allowance and dearness relief have been increased from 34 per cent at present to 38 per cent with effect from July 1. With this, a bonus of Rs 6908 will also be available.

In a tweet on Monday night, the Chief Minister’s Office said, “Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to reduce the rate of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief to the present 34 per cent from July 1, keeping in view the larger interest of the employees of the state and the pensioners/family of pensioners. It has been decided to increase it from 38 percent.
How many employees benefit
This decision of Yogi government will benefit 27.5 lakh employees-pensioners. There are 16 lakh state employees and 11.5 lakh civil/family pensioners in this. Along with this, 14.82 lakh non-gazetted employees will be paid cash DA at the rate of 38 per cent along with October salary to state employees. The amount of increased DA from July 1 to September 30 will be deposited in the Provident Fund Account (GPF) of the employees. It has also been decided to give a bonus of Rs.6908.
How much will the salary increase
If the basic salary is Rs 67700, then adding 4 percent DA will increase by Rs 2708. On the other hand, if it is Rs 26600, then on adding 4 percent DA on it, the salary will increase by Rs 1064.
How to get money
State employees will be paid cash DA at the rate of 38 per cent along with October salary. At the same time, the amount of increased DA from July 1 to September 30 will be deposited in the Provident Fund Account (GPF) of the employees.
How much will the burden on the treasury
In this way, the total expenditure burden of 1022 crores will come on the DA Sale State Government. In this, a cash load of Rs 639 crore will come while Rs 383 crore will go to the GPF account. Due to the decision of payment of bonus and DA together, there will be an expenditure of Rs 1436 crore on the exchequer.
