New Delhi, Business Desk. At present, the Aadhaar card is the most important document for anyone. It is used in many government and private works. Often times the Aadhaar card holder needs to update the mobile number or address in his Aadhaar card. Due to the incorrect address being printed or the old address in the Aadhar card, it needs to be updated. Cardholders can update the address in their Aadhaar card online at home.

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) provides the facility of updating the address to the card holders. The authority has also given information to people in this regard by tweeting it. UIDAI wrote in the tweet, ‘You can update the address online easily with your Aadhaar card. For this, you have to get an OTP on the registered mobile number, log in and scan a photo of the address proof. ‘ The authority has also put a link to this in its tweet. Let us know what is the process of updating the address in the Aadhaar card.
Step 1. The cardholder must first visit UIDAI website https://uidai.gov.in/.
Step 2. Here the cardholder has to go to the My Adhaar tab and click on Update your adhaar and then Update your address online.
Step 3. After this a new page will open on the screen. Here the cardholder has to click on the Proceed update address tab.
Step 4. Now a new page will open on the screen again. Here the cardholder has to enter his Aadhaar number and captcha and click on Send OTP option.

Step 5. Now the cardholder will get an OTP on his registered number. This OTP has to be entered and clicked on Login. (To get OTP, an active mobile number needs to be registered with Aadhaar card)
Step 6. Now the cardholder will see the option of Update address via address proof. The cardholder has to select it and enter his new address.
Step 7. Now the cardholder will have to upload a color photo of the related documents through mobile or scan it. Further processing will have to be completed.
Step 8. After this, the application for updating Aadhaar sent by the cardholder will be verified. After this, the new address will be updated on the Aadhaar card. The new Aadhaar card will be mailed to the cardholder in a few days.
