UPI (Unified Payments Interface) servers were stalled across the country for over an hour on Sunday. Social media platforms have been flooded with complaints as people faced problems in making online payments. According to users, online transactions were not being processed through many UPI apps including GPay, Paytm, PhonePe.
The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) is yet to make any public statement about the problems. Earlier this year on January 9, the UPI server was down. Reportedly, UPI accounts for 60 per cent of the retail transactions in the country.
I guess UPI apps are down.

UPI payments are facing trouble all the time. If nothing at least there should be a notification warning for not using them while they are down. Better than losing time and money. @Paytm @PhonePe @GoogleIndia

In March alone, as per NPCI data, 540 crore transactions were done. Out of these, transactions of about Rs 9.60 lakh crore were done. Let us tell you that at present, for small payments in the country, UPI is being used indiscriminately.
