UPI Scam: Digital payment is going on very fast across the country. Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is also in this race, which has become a very favorite online payment platform in the country. It is being used in every street in every corner of the country. But there is a problem…the faster UPI is becoming popular, the more the scams related to it are increasing. This is the reason why NPCI has had to start a campaign to stop this scam. These scams are especially targeting people who are less familiar with technology and are looting thousands and lakhs of rupees from them. If you have also become a victim of this or this has not happened to you yet, then be careful. You can easily avoid fraud by following the steps mentioned below.

A scary fraud has happened with this woman

Only one woman saved me from getting scammed. The woman completely foiled the scammer’s plan to commit fraud. What actually happened was that the scammer called the woman and said that her father’s LIC Money had to be transferred to his Google Pay account. The scammer said he would send Rs 25,000 through two Google Pay transactions. After this, he received a message of wrong transfer of Rs 50,000, which the country could clearly guess was a fake message. After this she understood that someone was committing fraud on her.

Many people become victims of payment spoof.

Let us tell you, these days fraud is going on very fast. Many fake UPI apps have also arrived. There are many such apps on Google Play Store which are fake, after downloading which money will disappear from your account. Screenshot of transaction success can be easily created with some apps available on Play Store. (Online Fraud) This is called payment spoof, with the help of which scammers easily deceive people. Apart from this, we adopt a trick to maintain the closing balance in the history, so that no one suspects that you are committing fraud. After following all these processes, the scammers get a page of transaction success, which looks exactly like the real transaction. By planning all this, scammers (Cyber Fraud) cheat you.

Follow these steps to stay safe

If you do not want to let yourself fall into the trap of any scammer, then you have to be cautious while making online payments. Never share your UPI, PIN, OTP or Password with anyone. Avoid clicking on any other link. Avoid giving any call that asks for money. Also, ignore your father, brother or sister if they ask for money in your name.
