Let us tell you that questions were being raised about lateral entry recruitment, after which the government has taken this decision. This letter has been written to the UPSC chairman by Union Minister Jitendra Singh. In which he has also mentioned the initiative taken on such appointment during the UPA government. It has been said in this letter that in the year 2005, for the first time under the chairmanship of Veerappa Moily, the central government recommended lateral entry. Recently, a recruitment advertisement for lateral entry was issued by UPSC, the process of which and the opposition was constantly attacking the government regarding the reservation in it. After continuous questions being raised on this, now the central government has written a letter to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) asking it to cancel the direct recruitment advertisement.

Leaders of many opposition parties including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha had opposed lateral entry in UPSC and not giving reservation in it. After this, many parties in the government also started raising their voice regarding this, after which now the government has instructed UPSC to cancel the advertisement of lateral entry.

This is the whole matter
