In the Civil Services Examination 2019, 829 candidates have been selected, out of which 45 are Muslims. Whereas in 2010, 31 Muslims were among 791 successful candidates ten years ago. At the same time, only 21 candidates were successful in 2011. While 50 candidates were successful in 2016 and 52 in 2017. This time Muslim candidates have got the most success in ten years on percentage basis. The previous best record was 2017. Then 52 Muslim candidates were successful in 990 and the participation was 5.3 per cent. This time the number of Muslim candidates is 45 and the participation is more than 5.4 percent. Safna Nazruddin has topped the 45th rank. After this, Sheikh Mohammad Jab Zakir ranked 153rd, J.J. Rahman is ranked 176th, Rumaiza Fatima is ranked 185th.
Naga candidate successful in UPSC after 13 years
Nearly 13 years later, a Naga candidate has passed civil service. According to the CSE-2019 results, Richard Yanthan of Naga’s Wokha district is ranked 133rd. I wish your country good health and conscience in country service. Yanthan has done BTech in Civil Engineering and is Additional Assistant Commissioner in the Government of Nagaland. He passed the Nagaland Public Service Examination 2018. His mother Shilumenla Longachari is also a bureaucrat and serves as the Deputy Secretary in the Government of Nagaland.
197 female candidates passed the exam
