Washington, PTI Amidst the worldwide corona crisis, US President Donald Trump has asked his government to suspend H-1B visas by the end of this year. A statement has been issued on behalf of the White House. The statement said that the US is moving towards a merit-based immigration system. Further stated that the Trump government would reform the immigration system to prioritize more-skilled workers and protect American citizens’ jobs.

The White House said those reforms would give priority to those in the H-1B visa program. Those who are being offered much higher salaries. Apart from this, the Trump government will also remove all the flaws. Taking advantage of this, companies keep cheap foreign workers in place of American workers.

For information, let us know that H-1B visa is a non-migrant visa. Which allows US companies to employ foreign professionals in certain occupations.
