https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home for income tax e-filing of the taxpayer. Through this portal, other tax related work can be done online, including filing income tax returns. But in this era of modern technology, the incidence of cybercrime is increasing. Therefore, it is important to use it carefully. However, if your e-account gets misused, then the taxpayer should report as soon as possible. Let us know how a complaint of misuse can be filed.

Missuse is cyber crime so do not delay the complaint
In spite of all the precautions, if a taxpayer’s income tax e-filing account is misused, then there is also a facility to lodge a complaint. According to the guidelines available on the Income Tax e-filing portal, if the taxpayer feels that there is some kind of agreement with his e-filing account or any other person is logged in, then it can be a case of cyber crime. Tax payers should not be delayed if this happens. He should report as soon as possible.
Make a complaint to the police or cyber cell officers. The
taxpayers should inform the concerned police or cyber cell officers about the misuse of income tax e-filing account as a first step of the complaint. The victim / complainant can lodge a criminal complaint / FIR by visiting the online initiative of Government of India https://cybercrime.gov.in/. The Income Tax Department will share with them any information related to the alleged cyber crime if summoned by the appropriate Law Enforcement Officers under their statutory powers of investigation.
