Vande Bharat Sleeper: Railways have been given a big gift in the interim budget released by the Central Government on Thursday. During this period, it has been said that 40 thousand bogies will be converted into Vande Bharat standard bogies.
The passengers of Vande Bharat Express train are going to get a double gift. Now those traveling long distances will be able to get the comfort of a sleeper along with semi-high speed. Now only two-three more months are left to wait for this. It is expected that the first set of sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express will be ready to hit the tracks in March.
It is reported that after getting the start in March and necessary trials, the new sets of sleeper versions will start running from the first or second week of April. According to a report in New Indian Express, serial production of these trains may start from August or September this year. In the report, quoting railway officials, it has been written that the process of manufacturing sleeper coaches is going on at full speed.
On which route will the sleeper train run?
At present, Vande Bharat Express is providing services on 39 railway routes in the country. These are all chair cars. According to the report, initially the new sleeper coaches will travel overnight on routes like Delhi to Mumbai, Delhi to Howrah and Delhi to Patna.
Quoting a senior Railway official, it has been said that passengers are going to get more facilities than before in sleeper coaches. He said that the sleeper versions will be of international standard in terms of quality, durability and affordability. He has informed that all the sets of sleeper version will have armor system and they will be able to run at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman says that these new corridors have been identified under the PM Gati Shakti initiative. Apart from this, high traffic density corridors will help in ensuring fast and safe rail travel.
