Vande Bharat Train: Central Railways has taken new steps to improve the passenger experience and cleanliness in Vande Bharat trains.
Vande Bharat Train: Central Railways has taken two big steps to further improve the passenger experience in the country’s first semi-high speed train. Under this, now if the toilets of trains become dirty, the employees and officers will be immediately alerted through an alarm. At the same time, Railways has also taken steps to reduce the damage caused by Vande Bharat trains due to collision with animals.
Toilet odor sensor
In a proactive step towards enhancing cleanliness and responding promptly to passenger concerns, Central Railways has introduced odor sensors in the toilets of executive coaches within Vande Bharat rakes. These sensors are deployed on a trial basis and are designed to continuously analyze odor levels in the toilet environment. When an increase in odor intensity is detected, the sensor sends an immediate alert message to the housekeeping staff.
This innovative technology empowers staff to immediately attend any identified area, maintain hygiene standards and ensure prompt action to minimize inconvenience to passengers. After a successful trial period, these odor sensors will be gradually installed in all other coaches, thereby increasing hygiene and comfort across the entire train.
This action regarding collision with animals
- Recognizing a recurring challenge related to incidents of cattle crushing affecting the pneumatic pipe from the reservoir to the auto drain valve in the driving trailer coach (DTC) of Vande Bharat trains, Central Railway has introduced a significant modification. Keeping in mind the susceptibility to damage due to entanglement with foreign objects during such incidents, the orientation of the pneumatic pipes in a DTC coach has been reversed.
- During cattle slaughter cases the pneumatic pipe from the main reservoir cylinder to the auto drain valve gets damaged due to entanglement with foreign objects as it is in the first line of contact. Due to this the auto drain valve in DTC coaches gets damaged.
- To avoid damage to the auto drain valve and connecting pipe, the position of the pneumatic pipe on a DTC coach is reversed and kept under observation. If found successful, this modification will also be done in other DTC coaches of Vande Bharat rake.
- This strategic modification aims to protect the auto drain valve and connective pipe, thereby reducing damage and ensuring smooth operation even in challenging conditions. The effectiveness of this modified orientation is currently under careful monitoring, and upon successful validation, the same modification will be extended to other DTC coaches within Vande Bharat rakes.
- These initiatives underline Central Railway’s unwavering commitment towards passenger safety, comfort and operational efficiency. They are a proactive step to address the challenges and continuously enhance the travel experience for passengers using Vande Bharat coaches.
