Indian Railways officials are considering running the new Vande Bharat train on the Ernakulam-Bengaluru or Thiruvananthapuram-Coimbatore route. Earlier, recently a decision was taken to extend the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod Vande Bharat Express from Alappuzha to Mangaluru, which is expected to benefit a lot of passengers. Now Thiruvananthapuram division may get another new Vande Bharat.
Vande Bharat trains have been a big hit in Kerala. According to ‘Manorama’ report, there has been a demand for Vande Bharat train on the Ernakulam-Bangalore route for some time, but it has not been provided yet due to no facility to carry out maintenance work. However, an electrified pit line in Ernakulam will be commissioned soon.
Kerala MP Hibi Eden has recently written a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, in which he has explained the need to run Vande Bharat on the Bengaluru-Ernakulam route. It also said that if this train is run from Bengaluru at 5 in the morning, many passengers are expected to benefit from it.
