Vande Bharat Train: It has been 6 years since the debut of the semi-high speed train Vande Bharat Express. This story of speed, which started in 2019, has now reached 136 services. These are also increasing continuously. Now the Railways is preparing to put the sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express on the tracks as well. With this, passengers will be able to travel long distances comfortably.

How it started
On 15 February 2019, the first Vande Bharat Express train running at a speed of 160 kmph on the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route was flagged off. These trains were launched under the ‘Make in India’ campaign. Compared to ordinary trains, Vande Bharat Express is equipped with many facilities ranging from speed to safety level.

What are the features
Vande Bharat Express has reclining ergonomic seats in the executive class, CCTV in all coaches and mobile charging sockets on every seat, automatic doors, hot cases in the pantry, water coolers, deep freezers, emergency windows in every coach, alarm push and talk back units. These trains can run at a speed of 160 km.
Sleeper Vande Bharat Express
The Railway Ministry had said on January 3 that the Vande Bharat Sleeper train has achieved a maximum speed of 180 kmph in its several tests in the last three days. These tests will continue till the end of January. After that, this world-class travel will be made available to railway passengers across the country for long distance travel. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also posted a video of this on X.
What will be special
These Vande Bharat sleeper trains are designed with features like automatic doors, extremely comfortable berths, on-board Wi-Fi and aircraft-like design. Passengers in the country are already using 136 Vande Bharat trains running on medium and short distances.
