Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 9 new Vande Bharat Express trains through video conferencing. This took the total number of semi-high-speed trains to 34. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that there will be a lot of improvement in connectivity through Vande Bharat Express trains. This will also give a great boost to tourism across India. He said the government is focusing on multi-modal connectivity and ease of travel to ensure that travel time is reduced.

PM Modi said, “This infrastructure development matches the aspirations of 140 crore Indians and this is what the country wants now.” Nine trains will provide fast connectivity in 11 states – Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar and West Bengal. On this occasion, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “In the last 9 years, PM Narendra Modi has transformed the railway system exceptionally. Now the railway stations are clean with new facilities.”

Bharat Express is Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express, Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express and Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express.
