Sleeper Vande Bharat will be run over long distances, so that passengers can travel comfortably. Tenders have been issued for this and work is also ready to be awarded soon. The sleeper train will be ready within 24 months of award of work.

New Delhi. Soon passengers will be able to travel sleeping in Vande Bharat trains. Ministry of Railways is going to bring sleeper Vande Bharat. Sleeper Vande Bharat will be run over long distances, so that passengers can travel comfortably. Tenders have been issued for this and work is also ready to be awarded soon. The sleeper train will be ready within 24 months of award of work. In this way, in 2025, the sleeper will come on the Vande Bharat track.

Today, there is every possibility of focusing on the infrastructure of railways in the budget. The operation of semi high speed trains like Railway Vande Bharat will be further increased. Presently, Railways has issued tender for 200 sleeper Vande Bharat trains. The work of production of trains is also in preparation to be awarded soon. According to the Ministry of Railways, the sleeper Vande Bharat train will be ready in 24 months i.e. two years after the award of the work. In this way, in the year 2025, passengers will be able to travel by sleeper Vande Bharat train. Emphasis on infrastructure will further increase the number of sleeper and normal Vande Bharat trains.

Presently eight Vande Bharat trains are running successfully in different states of the country. Two more trains will run on different routes from Mumbai on 10 February. In this way, the operation of a total of 10 Vande Bharat trains will start this month itself. It is proposed to manufacture 6500 aluminum coaches, 1240 locomotives and about 35,000 wagons to completely replace the existing trains. Aluminum coaches being lighter, consume less energy.
