Vande Metro Trains: Vande Bharat trains are being launched one after the other across the country. Till now Vande Bharat is running in almost all the states. This year, Indian Railways is preparing to launch 60 new Vande Bharats. Now another good news is coming soon. Actually, Vande Metro trains are going to start in the country. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had announced the launch of Vande Metro train in the Union Budget 2023-24. Now these trains are going to become a reality in some time. Currently, Vande Metro trains are being manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) located in Chennai.
Let us tell you that Vande Metro train will be similar to Vande Bharat train. However, Vande Metro will be its mini version. Like Vande Bharat, this is also a train completely made in India. According to the report of ‘ET Now’, the production and design of Vande Metro was completed last year. These trains will gradually replace suburban trains. Indian Railways can start Vande Metro trains by the end of March. This was confirmed by BG Mallya, General Manager of Integral Coach Factory, on the occasion of 75th Republic Day . He had said that ICF is preparing to launch Vande Metro trains by March this year.
Only a few months ago, BG Mallya had told that Vande Metro trains are being prepared for a journey of up to 300 kilometers. In a way, this will be a replacement for mainline EMU trains. These can be operated for a distance of 250-300 kilometers. These trains will have many new features, which are very important in today’s times and are not found in old passenger trains.
Apart from this, it will have similar features as Vande Bharat Express train. BG Mallya had said that the big change in this will be that like Vande Bharat has chair cars and there is no space for passengers to stand in them, but Vande will be in metro trains. Each coach will have seating for about 100 passengers, while about 200 passengers will also be able to stand. This train will be able to run at a speed of approximately 130 kilometers per hour. The entire train will be air conditioned. It will also be equipped with CCTV cameras, PIS system and LCD display.
