New Delhi. Some numbers remain a headache for RTOs. After the computerized number is allotted, the vehicle owners visit the RTO office to get the number changed but the number is not changed.
Under compulsion, people drive with the same number. Due to this number, different types of comments are also passed on the vehicle owner. Many drivers park their cars. Transport experts say that the Ministry of Road Transport should increase the digit of numbers from four to six, this can solve this problem. At present, there is no such proposal in the Ministry of Road Transport.
In the last days, a girl got upset after getting the number of Scooty of SEX series in Delhi. While passing the scooter, various comments were being passed on it. Under compulsion, the girl had to stop driving the scooty. Delhi Women’s Commission has also given notice in this regard. Similarly there is also a number 420. The number 0420 is automatically generated with the start of the series.
It is the compulsion of the department to give this number but the drivers do not want to take it. Although in the past manual numbers were allotted, in such a situation, the employees used to leave the objectionable numbers, due to the computerized system, all the numbers are being allotted. Recently, a military officer has been given the number 0420 in Delhi, on which he is objecting.
Number can change like this
Transport experts say that due to allotment of computerized number, this number cannot be stopped by the RTO, but if the vehicle is registered in another state with NOC, then the number can be changed. However, for this, there should be an address proof of another state.
Expert said, the Ministry of Road Transport should increase the digit
Transport expert Anil Chhikara explains that the introduction of four-digit numbers was in 1989. At that time it was not anticipated that so many vehicles would be in the country. Hence SEX or 420 numbers are repeatedly allotted at the start of the series. The Ministry of Road Transport should increase the number from four digits to six digits, so that instead of 9999 in one series, 999999 can be allotted.
Such series or numbers will not come soon. Apart from this, the transport authority of the state can lock the objectionable numbers so that these numbers are not allotted. Delhi Transport Commissioner Headquarters IT Cell’s RTO Prabhat Pandey said that keeping in mind the objections of the drivers, there is a preparation to remove such numbers.
