These decisions have been taken to stop the increasing pollution in Delhi, under which the Delhi government has ordered a ban on refueling overage petrol and diesel vehicles from April 1. Petrol pump operators have been instructed for this. For this, such devices have been installed at more than 80% of the petrol pumps in the capital, which will identify deregistered vehicles. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras have been installed at petrol pumps to identify such vehicles. With the help of these devices, old and non-PUC vehicles can be identified.
According to the instructions of NGT, diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years have been banned in the capital and they have been removed from the database of the Transport Department.
