Simultaneously, his two companions have also been caught in the police. Home Minister Narott Mishra has also described the arrest of this infamous gangster as a major success of Madhya Pradesh Police. He had come out after seeing the Mahakal temple in Ujjain that the police arrested him. The Kanpur gangster Vikas Dubey was constantly being tightened by the police. So far, more than half a dozen gangsters close to the gangster have been caught by the police, while the police have killed four close men in the encounter.

Ranbir Shukla and Prabhat Mishra, close to Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur shootout, were killed by police in an encounter in search of Vikas Dubey.
