Vivo V9 with AI-backed camera features launched in India

Vivo has launched the all new Vivo V9 in India priced at Rs 22,990. The camera focussed phone comes with selfie specific artificial intelligence (AI) features and sports a notch just like the iPhone X on the front.

Specifications

Vivo V9 comes with a dimension of 154.8 x 75.1 x 7.9 mm. The phone packs a gigantic 6.3 inch FullView IPS LCD display with a HD+ screen resolution of 1080*2280 pixels. The screen has an aspect ratio of 19:9. Thanks to its thin bezels, the phone has a screen-to-body ratio of 90 per cent. The phone has a uni-body curved edge design which makes the phone look slimmer, has a premium look and is comfortable to hold.



The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor and is supported amply by a 4GB RAM. The phone comes with a 64 GB internal memory and can be expanded up to 256 GB by a dedicated microSD slot. Taking care of the graphical processing is an Adreno 506 GPU.

With a tagline of ‘Perfect Shot, Perfect View’, the USP of the phone is the camera. The phone features a vertically-positioned dual rear-camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary depth-sense sensor. The rear camera has an aperture rate of f/2.0 and comes equipped with an LED flash. The rear cameras can capture a 2160p video at 30fps. According to the company, the camera supports HDR mode and combines it with its AI capabilities to enhance quality of the images it clicks.

The phone features a massive 24 megapixel front camera with an aperture rate of f/2.0. Apart from ability to capture videos at 1080p, the camera boasts of beautification features such as selfie focussed AI Face Beauty along with geo-tagging, face detection, gender detection, real bokeh mode, shot refocus, Portrait mode as well as Augmented Reality (AR) stickers.



Other than click pictures and capture videos, the front camera doubles up as a security feature with Face Access 2.0. The phone supports raise-to-wake feature along with app unlock function which lets you unlock various applications using Face Access.

The phone runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 4.0 which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Apart from these, the phone also has regular other features which include rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB 2.0, OTG compatibility, dual-band Wi-Fi, GLONASS, push email, 3.5 mm audio jack, active noise cancellation with mic, among others.
The 7.9mm phone packs in a large non-removable Li-Ion 3260 mAh battery and comes in three colours – Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue and Pearl Black.
