New Delhi, Business Desk. A Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a 10-digit unique identification number, which is lifetime valid. If you make any change in your address, then the PAN card remains unaffected by this. The PAN card contains your name, date of birthday and photo.
How to apply for PAN card?
Applying for PAN card has become easier these days, as now one can apply online as well as offline. One can apply for PAN in India through NDSL and UTIITSL websites.
How to apply for PAN online?
1) Open NDSL site to apply for a new PAN.
2) Select application type – New PAN will come for Indian citizens.
3) Select your category – personalize it.
4) Submit all the required details like name, date of birth, email address and your mobile number.
5) Click on ‘Continue with the PAN Application Form’ button.
6) Submit your digital e-KYC.
7) Now enter your personal details in the next part of the form.
8) Enter your area code, AO type and other details in this part of the form.
9) Now, click on ‘Proceed’.
10) Now, pay through NetBanking / Debit / Credit Card.
11) After successful payment you will get acknowledgment form with 16 digit acknowledgment slip.
12) Take a print of this acknowledgment form.
13) Paste two recent passport size photographs in the space provided as acknowledgment.
14) Add all the documents mentioned in the form (Self Attested) with the acknowledgment form.
15) Post the envelopes containing all these documents to the NDSL address.
