According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh from March 19 to 20. The reason for changing weather patterns in the country has been attributed to Western Disturbance.
Cold has bid farewell to entire North India and heat has started increasing. However, due to Western Disturbance, rain and hailstorm along with thunderstorms are being seen in many states of the country. The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh from March 19 to 20.
Sasonal activities of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, a trough is passing from Vidarbha to North Kerala via Marathwada and Karnataka. A weak western disturbance is seen as a trough in the westerly winds about 5.8 km above sea level, about 68 degrees east longitude and north of 30 degrees north latitude. Apart from this, another western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from the night of 20th March.
Delhi’s climate
The sky will remain clear in Delhi this entire week. However, it will be partly cloudy at times. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no chance of rain in Delhi. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi may remain between 32 to 33 degrees Celsius throughout this week. The minimum temperature is likely to be between 13 to 15 degrees Celsius.
Weather condition of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in Gangetic West Bengal during the next 24 hours between March 19 and 21. There is a possibility of hailstorm on March 19. Whereas between March 18 and 20, there may be widespread light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds (30 to 40 km per hour) in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh.
During this period, hailstorm is possible at different places in Vidarbha. There may be hailstorm at some places in Vidarbha on March 18 and 19; hailstorm may occur at some places in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on March 19. Apart from this, there may be sporadic heavy rainfall in Odisha and Chhattisgarh on March 19. There may be scattered light rain in Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh between March 18 and 20. There may be sporadic light rain in Kerala between March 18. Light to moderate rain is possible in Northeast India between March 18 and 21.
