Weather Update Latest Update: India’s Meteorological Department has said that the situation is going to worsen as there may be heavy rain (Heavy Rain Alert) and snowfall in the hilly and plain areas.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a major alert. The Meteorological Department has said that the situation in North India is going to worsen due to Western Disturbance. Due to this Western Disturbance, there may be heavy rain and snowfall in the hilly and plain areas from December 8, 2024.

This means that you may have to face the havoc of snowfall and rain in the cold, which may increase the difficulties. According to IMD, it may rain in Punjab and Haryana on 8 and 9 December. Apart from this, dense fog is also expected in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh from 7 December to 10 December.

The minimum temperatures are between 10-15°C over the plains of Northwest India and 15-20°C over Central India, Gujarat state, Maharashtra and eastern parts of India.

Minimum temperatures are markedly above normal (5°C or more) at many places over Telangana; markedly above normal (3°C to 5°C) at a few places over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Chhattisgarh; isolated places over Odisha, Konkan, Goa, many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Vidarbha and North Interior Karnataka.

With the activation of Western Disturbance, there will be a change in the weather and it may rain in the plains as well as the hilly areas. Kuldeep Srivastava, Director of Meteorological Center Shimla, said that the weather may remain bad in the entire state on 8 and 9 December.
