Weather Update: The weather has taken a turn after the rain in the country’s national capital Delhi. The temperature has dropped. People are shivering due to severe cold. However, air pollution has definitely reduced after the rains. Dense fog is present in most areas of North India. An alert has also been issued for light rain at some places.
Weather Update: Many areas of the country are still going through severe cold. The Meteorological Department has predicted a western disturbance on February 2. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), this system has caused a cyclonic storm in north-western Rajasthan and surrounding areas. Snowfall continues in some isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Whereas, on the previous day i.e. Thursday, rain activities were seen in New Delhi. Therefore, further frost may increase till February 5. Along with this, dense fog may also have to be faced. Today the average AQI of Delhi is 168, which is recorded in the satisfactory category.
In the country’s capital New Delhi, the minimum temperature can be recorded at 09 degrees and the maximum temperature can be recorded at 20 degrees. It may rain once again in New Delhi on 03 and 04 February. Today, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold day along with dense fog. Yellow alert of fog has been issued in Delhi as well as Chandigarh, Haryana and Punjab.
Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, schools closed
Rain and snowfall continues in Himachal Pradesh. Life has been affected by this. A person of Nepali origin has died due to cold in Shimla. At the same time, the roads of the state are largely closed. The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert (IMD Yellow Alert) for 3 February. Due to rain and snowfall, traffic has come to a standstill on 411 roads including 4 National Highways (NH) in the state. 1506 transformers have shut down and there is blackout in many areas in Manali and Chamba. Most of the roads in Himachal are closed in Lahaul-Spiti and due to the closure of Leh Manali Highway, Lahaul-Spiti has been cut off from the country and the world. In Kullu district, it has been announced to close schools, colleges and educational institutions for today i.e. 2nd February.
Weather condition of other areas
Light to moderate rain is expected in West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, South Tamil Nadu and South Kerala. Light to moderate rain and snowfall may occur over upper reaches of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Dense fog may prevail in some parts of Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
