Apart from this, the scheme is awaited in the states and union territories like Lakshadweep, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Meghalaya. Under this scheme, which came into effect from August 1, now citizens of other areas in these 24 states and union territories will also be able to get ration. Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi has also talked about implementing this scheme in the capital. However, it may take a few months now as the state government is preparing to launch it with the ‘Ghar-Ghar Ration Scheme’.
