1- Online indicator for group chats
This feature of WhatsApp will give users information about online group members. With the arrival of this feature, users will know in real-time how many members of the group are online.
2- You will be able to highlight notifications in the group
This feature will give users the option to easily prioritize group chat notifications. For this, in the Notify for setting, highlights will have to be limited to @mentions, replies and saved contacts or all contacts.
3- Event updates
Along with creating events in the group, users can now also create 1:1 conversations. According to WhatsApp’s blog, users are also being given the option to ‘maybe’ RSVP in it. Along with this, the option of invite a plus one, end date for big events and pinning the event in the chat is also being given.
4- Tapable reactions
In group chats, you will often have the desire to +1. WhatsApp has fulfilled this demand of the users. Now users can quickly see everyone’s reactions and can send it as their reaction by tapping on any of them.
5- Document scanning for iPhone
iPhone now has a feature to scan and send documents directly from WhatsApp. For this, iPhone users will have to select the Scan Document option in the attachment tray. After this, they can follow the steps to scan, crop and save the document.
6- Default app for iPhone
With the latest iOS update, iPhone users can set WhatsApp as their default calling and messaging app on iPhone. For this, users will have to go to Default Apps in Settings and select WhatsApp.
7- Pinch to zoom video calls
iPhone users can pinch to zoom in on the video for a clear view of the feed shown during a video call.
8- Add to call from chat
Now users can add someone else to an ongoing one-to-one call. For this, users will have to go to the call icon at the top and select ‘Add to call’.
9- Smooth video call experience
WhatsApp has further improved the video calling experience of users. The company said that its optimized routing system searches for the best connection path, which reduces call drops and video freezing. Along with this, WhatsApp is now also providing better bandwidth detection, which automatically upgrades the video to HD.
10- Video notes for channels
Like chats, channel admins will also be able to record and share videos up to 60 seconds with followers.
11- Voice message transcripts on channel
Users will get a written summary of the voice message in the channels. This feature will prove to be very useful when users are facing trouble in listening to the voice message for some reason.
12- QR codes
Channel admins can now share a unique QR code on their channel and increase the number of their audience.
